Grey Juice Lab is entering the US VOD market with the opening of a new office in Los Angeles. The company, which builds, curates and manages tailored VOD services for operators across the globe, will kick off its move to the US with a presence at the NAB Show next week.
The new office is under the direction of Grey Juice Lab’s Founder and CEO Mihai Crasneanu. It aims to better serve the company’s existing client base whilst capitalizing on the growing need for greater content diversity and differentiation in the US VOD market.
Crasneanu said, “When it comes to video, it really does pay to be different. But we’re not currently seeing a lot of differentiation in the US market among the VOD services provided by the telecom and cable operators. How do you build an attractive service when your customers have instant access from any device to Netflix, Amazon, Hulu, iTunes and the likes, and every MVPD offers the same catalogue? You need to think strategically about your audience and segment the services you want to offer them based on the universe of content available not only in the US, but worldwide. More importantly, you need to know how to access that universe of content to craft a tailor-made service that attracts and retains subscribers.”
After 10 years of providing VOD content and services to MSOs in Europe, Asia, Latin America and Middle-East, Grey Juice Lab boasts the biggest and most diverse catalogue of content from Hollywood and around the world. It spans over 100 countries and millions of titles, including blockbuster movies, popular TV series, children’s content, documentaries and sports, as well as specific niche content from different regions and cultures. Besides content licensing, Grey Juice Lab provides its customers with a range of content services including content advisory; content preparation and delivery; content promotion and revenue optimisation.
Jean-François Lemercier, COO and co-founder of Grey Juice Lab added, “The US market is dominated by well-established local companies, who have been providing turn-key VOD content and services to the domestic operators for 20 years. Our objective is to bring to the market our wider offer and fresh ways to attract VOD audiences. We can do this either in partnership with the existing local suppliers or by addressing the domestic MVPDs directly.”
Grey Juice Lab’s team will be available throughout the NAB Show at CMIP Lounge SU12205 in the South Upper hall.
