The premium content provider has been chosen to provide transactional content on the VOD service for Peru’s Movistar Play. Through the new model the service will include an impressive catalogue of more than 500 new movies and titles from major Hollywood studios.
Grey Juice Lab, one of the world’s leading providers of premium content and SVOD services, has further strengthened its relationship with Telefónica after being chosen to offer transactional content on the Video On Demand (VOD) service for Movistar Play on Peru.
Although Movistar Peru already offered on-demand and catch-up content for thousands of titles through Movistar Play, it recently incorporated the transactional model with the support of Gray Juice Lab.
As such, the service will now have an important catalog of more than 500 new films, alongside the library of major Hollywood studios like Warner Bros., Disney, NBC Universal, Paramount, FOX and Lionsgate.
In the coming months, users of Movistar Play Perú will be able to rent the most well-known movies of the year such as The Great Wall, Cars 3, Despicable Me III and Wonder Woman, amongst others, all from the comfort of home.
The service will also be available in multiple platforms including Deco, PC, mobile and Smart TVs.
This is the most recent launch of transactional VOD as part of a series of Movistar Play services in the region for which Gray Juice Lab offers its services, including Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Central America and Ecuador.
Damián Craimowicz, Regional Director at Gray Juice Lab, said: “Peru is a country that has been growing steadily in the region and we believe that Movistar now has it all to become a leader in the entertainment market.”
As with other operations, Gray Juice Lab provides Telefónica with various services, including processing and delivery of materials, subtitling, and the creation of metadata, as well as the programming and marketing services.
